Frame:   Sympathetic to the period but not necessarily the original

Details:   This striking portrait is of an unknown lady. It is signed and dated 1911.


Born in Harpenden, Herts, Salisbury studied at Heatherley’s under John Crompton and at the R.A. Schools (Landseer Scholarship).


He also spent time studying in Italy, France and Germany.


He was hugely successful as a portraitist, painting King George V and other royals, Lord Simon, Churchill, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Mussolini and many other public figures.


He exhibited at the R.A (78), R.P. (76), and was a  Paris Salon Gold Medallist.


His works are hung in galleries worldwide.


This striking portrait of a lady is signed and dated 1911.
